Activities
The Villa, a 11,000 square-foot clubhouse available exclusively to residents of Jubilee, includes a fitness center with an aerobics and dance studio, community rooms, a billiards room, library, and outdoor junior Olympic sized pool, hot tub, horseshoe pits, archery range and tennis, bocce-ball, basketball and pickleball courts.

Events, trips and interest groups organized by Jubilee residents & staff add to the pleasant year-round climate, cultural offerings and recreational adventures that residents enjoy. Situated at the base of El Cerro de Los Lunas and west of Interstate 25, the community offers desirable low-maintenance homes and a world-class lifestyle in a gated age-restricted neighborhood.
Finding Love at Jubilee
It was March, 2019, and we were each attending the Jubilee ballroom dancing class for the first time. As soon as I (Marion) spotted Gilbert there I made myself quite available next to him, hoping we would have the first dance together. It happened just as I hoped, and we immediately felt comfortable and right together, with lots of laughs concerning our ballroom dance inabilities.
During that first dance we learned that we had both recently lost our spouses, so knew we were single and available. That next Monday he took me to the local shooting range for a little target practice. (We both enjoy target shooting). After that I knew I wanted to spend more time getting to know him. So a couple days later, in line dance class, I got up the nerve to ask him over for “a glass of wine”. He not only brought himself, but also a homemade banana cream pie! That plus the wine was our dinner. That evening we got to know much about each other, and by the time he left we both felt we had turned a corner in our lives, and were leaving behind the sadness and loneliness we had both felt.
We saw each other almost every day until our marriage five months later on August 17. During that time I left behind my unbelief, and had accepted Gilbert’s faith and the church he attended. We spent so many good times fishing, hiking, cooking, eating out, target shooting and just enjoying one another.
On June 28, at Half Moon Restaurant in Old Town, Gilbert surprised me with a formal engagement ring and proposal of marriage. I said yes! Our wedding was at his (our) church, and was attended by just our immediate family. We now reside at his house on Agave Court, and are so very happy and blessed to be spending our lives together as one.
